Adding an icon to the asset catalog

#1

Hi,
using XCode 5.0.2, and I believe following exactly the instruction, I can work my way up to adding the app icon to the asset catalog. But I don’t see the app icon when I run the application because I can’t run it. I have a build error:
The app icon set named “AppIcon” did not have any applicable content.
I’ve googled a bit but couldn’t fix the error.
Any help welcome
Alex

Hi Alex,

I had the same problem. I fixed it by doing the following:

  • Right click the icon in the Asset Catalog and click “Remove Selected Items”
  • Open the downloaded “Icon@2x.png” in Preview, go to Tools->Adjust Size and resize to 120x120 pixels.
  • Drag the resized icon from Finder to the Asset Catalog
  • Rebuild and run the application

Thanks Haasken, that fixed it. I had seen warning about the size, but was trying to fix the error first and did not understand that this was related.
