IsEqual: vs. isEqualToString:

In all NSXMLParser code throughout the book, the elementName is compared to a string using isEqual:. But for the publicationDate in RSSItem, isEqualToString: is used.

Is there a particular reason for this? Or are they interchangeable?

I looked into the Apple documentation for isEqualToString: and see only this:

I don’t believe the author’s meant to mix the calls, but seems to make little difference.
