License for the code in the book?

#1

Hi, all!

I’m finishing chapter 28 now and an upcoming project requires processing RSS feeds. Is it OK to build on the code from the book and use that in a project? Obviosuly, I’m not going to try to sell “NerdFeed”. I didn’t see any notes about copyright or license of the code in the book.

Thanks,

Steve

You can use the code as a guide for your own projects, yes. The copyright would protect us from someone trying to distribute the code as they are written as exercises.

Thank you! That’s very reasonable.

Take care,

On a related topic, what do you guys think about embedding RSS feeds from a third party in an app? Can I charge money for an app whose secondary role would be to show someone else’s (public) content?

Thanks,
Greg
