Null reference does not debug as expected

#1

The book instructs us to deliberately generate a null reference then debug it.

When I put in the null reference and execute, the screen goes blank but there is nothing informative in LogCat. Other LogCat trace messages - from my app and others - appear OK. I can set a breakpoint on the line in question in Eclipse and execute up to it, and it breaks. Everything looks OK.

I expect LogCat to display that error, and also when I hit the null reference, to be presented with a stack frame.

Where is it?

Hmm. You are sure that you are commenting out the appropriate line? And you are getting the “Unfortunately, GeoQuiz has stopped.” popup? Is your emulator/device selected in the Devices listing in DDMS?
