Resizing the UITableViewController

I notice that the instance of our UITableViewController (or is it the UITableView?) stretches all the way to the top of the window. When I run the application, my “Over $50” section header gets drawn over the “Carrier” label in the top margin. As I scroll down the list, the information moving toward the top remains visible as it passes through the labels that show the time and battery life. I’d like my UITableViewController’s (UITableView’s?) top boundary to stop at the top margin so that everything above the top margin line remains unobscured. What do I need to change in order to make this happen? I tried adjusting the bounds of the UIWindow property of the AppDelegate, but I know now that is incorrect. Does the correct answer lie in making an adjustment in viewDidLoad() in BNRItemsViewController.m?
