[SOLVED] Emulator: Could not find qemu

I am using Android Studio 3.01 on Windows 10.

When trying to run QuizActivity for the first time, the emulator can’t start. The root cause seems to be this:

Emulator: Could not launch 'C:\Users\Bernd\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\emulator/qemu/windows-x86_64/qemu-system-i386.exe': No such file or directory

Indeed, there is no such file. C:\Users\Bernd\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\emulator is empty, and there is no file named qemu*.exe under the Sdk folder.

I am also puzzled by the mix of Windows-type backslashes and UNIX-type slashes in the file name. How did I get there, and more importantly, how can I fix this?

I found that it was simply not installed, for whatever reason.

To add it to the Android Studio installation, go to Tools->Android->SDK Manager, select the SDK Tools tab, then ensure that Android Emulator is selected.
