Hello everyone,
I’m new to Android development. I’ve been using the Big Nerd Ranch Guide to Android Programming as my main learning resource. The book presents information clearly and easy to follow, and has a very hands-on approach, unlike the online documentation. However, I wanted to ask the community for advice on getting the most out of it.
Are people building mini-projects in addition to working through each chapter, or is it better to follow the book strictly working through the book before I start my own app? Are there any other resources (videos, GitHub repos, forums) that would be good to supplement the BNR book and learning with?
I came across this website:https://forums.bignerdranch.com/t/what-is-the-portion-marked-by-red-called-in-android-development/12774/azure-training-in-hyderabad
Often, I find myself stuck on minor errors that could be anything from the latest Android Studio update to deprecated methods. Is this forum the better space to post for questions like that, or am I better off looking at Stack Overflow for faster help?
I’d be very interested to hear how others have structured a learning path through BNR content. Thank you very much in advance for any other suggestions!
Best,
williamclark
