The Right Stuff?

I have an older MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), running macOS Catalina Version 10.15.1. The only Xcode that seems to be allowed is Xcode Version 11.2.1 (11B500).

I purchased three programming books with the hopes of using this older MacBook to convert a few Windows .Net FORM programs over for use on the MAC.

COCOA Programming for MAC OS X - Third Edition
IOS Programming The Big Nerd Ranch Guide - 6th Edition
Programming in Objective-C 2.0

I cannot find a way to utilize and follow any of my books with this combination of hardware and Xcode manuals.

My Question, will IOS Programming The Big Nerd Ranch Guide - 7th Edition, be compatible with my older MacBook and Xcode 11.2.1?
