The following game is a newer, yet retro-looking RTS with a lot of detail and things you can do. It’s played by a small community of players and was featured on Indie Games. It’s a great retro, text style of strategy game where you can take over the world like in Risk, build farms and construct cities, summon wizards and make pilgrimages, gamble gold and play the Stock Market, or just sit back and watch other players duke it out.
